Join us for the South Country Library’s annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage with The New York City trio. Rachel Elezi, soprano, will be joined by classical guitarist Jordan Dodson, led by pianist Alexander Wu. They will perform their show, “Cantos De Las Americas”. The ensemble of voice, guitar, and piano covers a wide range of Spanish music: from bolero, folk, flamenco, Broadway, jazz, and popular music. Music of Albéniz, Bernstein, Bor, Chapí, Granados, Grever, Jobim, Lara, Lorca, Piazzolla, Turina, Velasquez, Viardot and more.
This concert celebrates the legacy of Italian music and the traditions it brought to the New World, inspiring its diverse musical roots on the continents of the Americas. Millennium Chamber Symphony and New York City trio Rachel Elezi, soprano, Pablo Gimenez, classical guitar, and Alexander Wu, piano & arranger, will perform a spectrum of vocal and instrumental works from light opera classics to Italian-inspired selections from Broadway, jazz, Latin and American popular music.
